New Trustee appointment and Trustee retirement

The Chairman of the L.E.W. Carty Charitable Fund, Dr Susan Harker, is pleased to welcome Dr Shane Huntington OAM as a new Trustee.

Shane brings more than three decades of experience across the tertiary, government, not-for-profit and commercial sectors, with a strong focus on strategy, research and innovation. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Society for Medical Research and previously served as CEO of the paediatric cancer charity Little Big Steps.

Shane’s experience building partnerships, securing funding and supporting high-impact initiatives will be a valuable addition to the Board, and we look forward to his contribution.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Sally Wood, who has recently stepped down as Trustee after 11 years of dedicated service to the Trust. Over her tenure, Sally made a valued contribution, bringing thoughtful insight and a strong commitment to our work. Sally is a great niece of the founder of the L.E.W. Carty Charitable Fund, the late Olive Muriel Carty. Sally’s guidance has helped shape our direction and strengthen our impact, and we are deeply grateful for her contribution.
