Grants are currently awarded by invitation only.

The selection process has three stages:

1. Invited institutions will be asked to nominate one eligible researcher to present to the L.E.W. Carty Trustees.
2. Following the presentations, shortlisted researchers will be invited to submit a written application.
3. One researcher will be selected to receive the grant.
