Dr Susan Forrest appointed Chair of L.E.W. Carty Charitable Fund
After 43 years as a Trustee of the L.E.W Carty Charitable Fund, and Chairman for the past 11 years, Darvell Hutchinson AM has retired and handed leadership of the foundation to Dr Susan Forrest.
Dr Forrest has a BSc (Hons) from the University of Melbourne and a D.Phil from Oxford in Clinical Medicine. Her research experience is in human molecular genetics with an emphasis on gene discovery and genetic diagnosis. She holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from RMIT and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Dr Forrest was CEO of Australian Genomics Research Facility from 2003 until 2016. More recently, she worked at the Victorian Division of the Heart Foundation as Director, Cardiovascular Health Programs and then with the National Heart Foundation as Director, Research until the beginning of 2019. Currently, Dr Forrest is consulting in the area of science recruitment.
