Dr Susan Forrest, Chair

Dr Forrest has a BSc (Hons) from the University of Melbourne in 1981 and a D.Phil from Oxford in Clinical Medicine in 1988 studying the genetic basis of Duchene muscular dystrophy.  Her research experience is in human molecular genetics with an emphasis on gene discovery and genetic diagnosis.  She completed a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from RMIT in 1996. In 2003, Sue was appointed the CEO of Australian Genomics Research Facility, a role that continued until 2016. More recently, Sue worked at the Victorian Division of the Heart Foundation as Director, Cardiovascular Health Programs and then with the National Heart Foundation as Director, Research until the beginning of 2019.Sue is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Steven Lambeth, CFA

Steve currently works as an equities investment analyst for the Bennelong Long Short Equity Fund (part of the Bennelong Funds Management Group). Steve joined Bennelong in August 2014 and has 17 years of experience in the funds management industry.Before joining Bennelong, Steve worked in similar roles at JCP Investment Partners and Wallara Asset Management, both Melbourne boutique investment managers specialising in Australian shares portfolios on behalf of sophisticated wholesale investors. Prior to joining the funds management industry, Steve worked as an investment consultant with Towers Perrin’s Asset Consulting Practice.

Steve has a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from Melbourne University and a Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University. He is also a CFA Charterholder from the CFA Institute since 2003.

Sally Wood

Sally Wood has a Bachelor of Business (Victoria University) and a background in financial management. Her professional experience has included finance roles within the Victorian health care sector, international publishing in London and various senior roles within the commercial sector.Sally is a great niece of the founder of the L.E.W. Carty Charitable Fund, the late Olive Muriel Carty.

Olive Carty emphatically wished her benefaction to be named in honour of her late husband, Leslie E.W. Carty, a well-known Western District pastoralist. Sally’s appointment will continue a dedicated family connection with her great aunt’s benefaction which today supports many worthy medial research projects in Victoria.
