What We Fund

Mrs. Carty’s Will provides that the Trustees may make grants to those institutions which they believe to be in need of funds "to assist or promote research into the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of physical or mental disorders of human beings".

Preference is given to specific laboratory research projects, or for essential equipment to undertake such projects.

What We Don't Fund

The Trustees normally will exercise their discretion in only supporting pure research programs, rather than supporting overhead expenses or deficit funding of research organisations, travel or study grants of researchers, or on-going commitments from year to year.
